Richard B. Cheney is an American public servant, businessman, and politician. Cheney has become a regular face on the Washington political scene was a former president under a variety of U.S. presidents George W. Bush and George H.W. Bush. He will serve as the fourth and as the elected president. Bush picked Cheney as his running mate as Vice President in July 2000. He cited Cheney's experience and insight. Dick Cheney served as the chief of staff for the president, was an elected member of Congress and served as secretary of defence. Republicans as well as Democrats alike respect his honesty. Cheney claims he's an unassuming but trustworthy adviser for Bush during his presidency. Cheney, who accepted the Republican Vice-Presidential nominating in 2007 said his hopes were high for serving under a president that is able to work across party lines and work with political rivals by fostering goodwill and working towards a common purpose. Richard Bruce Cheney was born in Lincoln Nebraska on January 30 1941. He was the son of Richard Herbert Cheney and the former Marjorie Lauraine Dickey. After 13 years of age, old, he moved with his family to Casper within the Western part of Wyoming, where his father directed the local soil conservation district to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
