She was conceived on March 29, 1985, in Roswell in New Mexico. Gerina Michel Mendoza is her birthname. Gerina Stevenson, who is the Mexican mother of Rita Stevenson Stevenson and Alan Stevenson Stevenson is birthed in Mexico. She is of Mexican-American heritage and is an American in nationality. Since her early years the desire for her to be active in sports was strong. Gerina began golfing when she was fifteen years old. Gerina finished her High School studies through Goddard High School. The school won her place in the New Mexico State Golf Tournament in her high school years. In addition, she was an athlete in volleyball who played at the national level. She was enrolled at the University of Texas, Texas during the 2003 academic year. She won all of the events she took part in throughout her senior years. Through her college professional career, she took home her the Conference USA Individual Champion Player of the Year Award and UTEP Female athlete of the year.
