Jenna Fischer has become best recognized as Pam Beesly, the character she played on The Office. For this character, she was awarded two SAG Awards in Outstanding Ensemble Comedy and an Emmy Award for the Best Supporting Actress.
Her birthplace and childhood was in Fort Wayne in Indiana. Jenna watched her mom, Anne, perform in the church when she was young, which instilled a love for theater and performing.
After finishing The Office, Fischer, a theater-trained actress returned to her home base. She was a part of Josh Hamilton Leslie Bibb Fred Weller in Neil LaBute's Off Broadway show Reasons to be Happy. In Steve Martin's most recent play Meteor Shower (an absurdist comedy featuring Greg Germann and Josh Stamberg), she performed in the Old Globe Theatre's record-breaking world premiere.
The Office actress Angela Kinsey Fischer, who is her real-life best friend and co-star, debuted Office Ladies in October 2019 on Earwolf. The podcast was hugely popular and ranked within the Top Ten of the world every week. It had more than 200 million downloads during its first 2 years. The podcast premiered in January of 2021. Office Ladies won iHeart Radio's Podcast of the Year award.
She's the author of The Actor's Life : A Survival Guide (coauthored with Angela Kinsey) The book tells her story of moving to St. Louis to Hollywood and becoming an actor is narrated. The Office BFF's : The Tales of The Office by Two Best Friends That Were There is also a memoir of Angela and herself and their collaboration on The Office.
